The Adidas F50 campaign, featuring soccer superstar Lionel Messi, was no doubt exciting yet proved to be a bit of a challenge to shoot as Gary had to recreate a stadium within a studio.

In the first, the D1 is placed up high to emulate sunlight and casting a dramatic shadow. With an Air Remote attached, the seemingly distant monolight is now in control from their fingertips.

Four lights are used by Tony Corbell in this video, each with a specific purpose. He meters for the main light as his starting point, with all other lights relative to it. A 4 x 6 softbox is used for the main light. Twin accent lights (edge light and background light) are used from behind at two stops below the main light. A D1 with a zoom reflector gives some pop to the background.
